Recovery is not meant to be walked alone.
Whether someone is struggling with substance use, supporting a loved one, or beginning their own recovery journey, one of the most powerful things they can hear is, “I’ve been where you are, and you don’t have to go through this alone.”
That’s why Team Recovery Foundation is building a Community Support Network, a group of compassionate volunteers who are willing to connect with others who may simply need someone who understands.
We know that every journey is different. A mother may be looking for another mother who has experienced the challenges of loving a child with addiction. A spouse may need someone who understands the emotional toll addiction can take on a relationship. A teen may feel more comfortable talking with someone closer to their own age. Someone newly in recovery may benefit from hearing from another person who has successfully navigated the path ahead.
Our goal is to create a trusted network of people with lived experience who are willing to offer encouragement, understanding, and hope through conversation and connection.
You don’t have to be a counselor or have all the answers. Sometimes the greatest gift you can give is simply listening, sharing your story, and reminding someone that they are not alone.
If you are willing to be contacted when someone is looking for support from a person with a similar experience, we would love to hear from you. Whether you are a parent, spouse, sibling, family member, friend, person in recovery, or someone who has supported a loved one through addiction, your experience has the potential to make a meaningful difference in someone else’s life.
