Team Recovery Foundation Launches Backpack Project to Support Individuals in Recovery
Team Recovery Foundation’s Backpack Project is a compassionate outreach initiative funded by the Toledo Community Foundation’s Sisters of St. Francis Grant. The project is designed to provide individuals entering or currently undergoing substance abuse treatment with essential personal items — offering not only practical support but also a sense of dignity and hope.
Each backpack is carefully assembled with necessities to help ease the transition into recovery and create a more supportive, welcoming environment.
The program’s goals are to:
-
Support individuals in early recovery by meeting immediate basic needs until they can be connected to community resources.
-
Reduce stress and remove barriers often associated with beginning treatment.
Each backpack includes hygiene products (toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, deodorant, shampoo), a towel, a water bottle, and snacks.
Additionally, through this grant, we are introducing a new birth certificate voucher program to help individuals secure essential identification documents — stay tuned for more details!
